The St. Anthony Faith Community welcomes infants and children up to 7 years old, into our community through the Rite of Baptism. It is the first sacrament that children with their families receive during their life’s faith journey. Children over 7 years old, participate in an RCIA preparation process
We believe that parents are the primary teachers of the Catholic faith in their family and so provide them with opportunities to prepare and support them in this role.
It begins with a phone call to our Pastor Fr. John Henderson at 503-639-4179 ext. 112 or by emailing him at email@example.com. He will set up a time for you to meet and to let you know when and where the required class for parents is being held and answer questions you may have.
If Spanish is your first language and you need to participate in preparation classes taught in Spanish please contact Deacon Marco at 503-639-4179 ext. 129 or by email at MEspinoza@satigard.org
When choosing your Godparents the following are the requirements of the Catholic Church. Only one God parent is required however, you may have more.
- A God parent must be at least 16 yrs of age and a practicing Catholic
- A practicing Catholic is an individual that has received all the sacraments of initiation which are baptism, confirmation and Eucharist. Each God parent is required to provide proof of reception of these sacraments and that they are in good standing in the Parish they are presently attending.
